History Channel – Abraham Lincoln Biography – Documentary

Abraham Lincoln, was one of the most amazing (and my favorite) president U.S.A has ever seen. He was born on February 12, 1809, the second child of Thomas and Nancy Hanks Lincoln. He was 16th President of U.S.A until his assassination in 1865. But many of the people in many parts of the world don’t know much about his childhood and personal life and the following documentary will help with that and hope that it will provide you with the information you want to know. Must Watch..!!

  1. This documentary is not accurate. Your documentary states that Lincoln told his wife on his final day of his life that he wanted to visit California. According to Mary Todd Lincoln he said”based on words later reported by Mary Lincoln, reports that as the play was going on, the president was whispering to his wife about some ideas on how they would spend the future. After the war and his term, Lincoln said to Mary, according to this account, “We will not return immediately to Springfield. We will go abroad among strangers where I can rest.”
Where did Lincoln have in mind?
“‘We will visit the Holy Land,’ Lincoln continued, leaning toward Mary so as not to disturb the others.”
Lincoln added these words: “We will visit the Holy Land and see those places hallowed by the footsteps of the Savior. There is no place I so much desire to see as Jerusalem.” It’s disheartening that The History Channel is rewriting history by not only changing Lincoln’s word so, but also not acknowledging that Lincoln was a very religious man. I would appreciate a reply with an explanation of why his words were edited.
